The festival includes 500 designers from 40 countries.

Dubai Design Week is back and marking 10 years. Running from 5 to 10 November, it takes place in Dubai Design District (d3) and brings exciting exhibitions and events from local as well as international designers.

Dubai Design Week has been created under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture. The festival celebrates the local as well as the regional community’s creative talent and showcases the city as a global design hub. The festival includes 500 designers and brands from more than 40 countries, and the exhibitions range from installations to experiential displays.

Key Programming at Dubai Design Week 2024 includes a series of exhibitions and activations, installations, talks and a curated retail experience spotlighting regional designers, producers, and local businesses that will offer homeware, jewellery, fashion, lifestyle products, food experiences, and live performances. Elsewhere, Dubai Design Week’s annual Urban Commissions competition invites architects and designers to create outdoor furniture for public spaces.

Taking place from 6 to 9 November, Downtown Design, the region’s leading contemporary design fair, will feature its largest edition yet, with a lineup of renowned international designers, speakers, and brands.

Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, part of TECOM Group, explained, “Creative industries fuel the economy while shaping identity and culture. Dubai’s focus on nurturing creative communities has led to a rich, multicultural design narrative that reflects the Emirate’s ambitions. Dubai Design Week has played a crucial role in this over the past decade, providing a platform that promotes local and international talent while addressing global design themes like diversity, sustainability, and belonging.”

Natasha Carella, Director of Dubai Design Week, added: “As we mark the 10th edition, we look forward to gathering designers from around the world to exchange ideas and highlight the positive impact of design. This year’s programme will focus on sustainable practices, vernacular architecture from the region and the wider global south, showcasing how creativity can address modern challenges and shape our common future.”

Creativity awaits.
