Destination London: The BoTree brings conscious luxury to the capital

This boutique hotel offers a serene escape from the city’s frenetic pace.

Capturing the essence of London’s village life and merging it with the glamour of the city, The BoTree sits at the convergence of three neighbours: Marylebone, Mayfair and Soho. A short jaunt from Bond Street and the West End, this is a hotel in the heart of the action, where guests are treated like neighbours and conscious luxury is prioritised.

The BoTree draws its name from the Bodhi Tree, where Buddha is said to have achieved enlightenment. Marked by its striking exterior which replicates the bend of a tree trunk decorated with foliage and forestry, stepping into this beautifully boutique property reveals a modern marvel. Natural wood abounds throughout the lobby, where check-in formalities are completed on colourful sofas amidst co-working spaces and large windows that look out onto the busy thoroughfare.

Boutique bedrooms

This distinct sense of place carries through into the 199 guest rooms and 30 suites, which are cute yet compact, bursting with colour, class and creativity. The door to our Deluxe Room opens into a dressing room of sorts, where umbrellas are poised to help you beat a British downpour and trendy tote bags are ready for an impromptu shipping spree – Selfridges is mere moments away, after all. To the left lies the WC, while further in lies the vanity, complete with photo-worthy ring lights and a shower cubicle tiled in shimmering gold. Marble finishes, luxury toiletries and underfloor heating add a touch of indulgence.

Sleek sliding doors separate the bathroom facilities from the living quarters, where a comfortable king-size bed laden with plush linens is backed by a textured headboard that morphs into a feature wall with its bold lava lamp-esque pattern. The room’s muted colour palette is accented by natural materials and bespoke furnishings. A small sofa and table are great for working or reading, while a wooden console supports the sound bar and large television. Middle Eastern travellers will appreciate the range of channels—Oman TV, anyone?

No matter which room you choose, each comes with its own host—a dedicated staff member who can handle any and all requests. Plus, eco-touches prevail throughout, including bedding made from upcycled eucalyptus leaves.

Distinct dining options

Should restaurants be the focus of your stay, the neighbourhoods of Mayfair and Marylebone offer fantastic feasting, from crowd favourites Bao and Hoppers to upmarket Mayfair mainstays such as Jamavar, The Maine and Hakkasan. However, the onsite options at The BoTree are just as appealing.

The BoTree Bar isn’t just a place to grab a drink. Nestled within timeless surroundings, this bar is your refuge from day to night. Curated by Culinary Director Stefano Lorenzini, the menu features creative cocktails and luxurious dishes, such as caviar sandwiches and truffled grilled cheese with hot honey.

The BoTree Bar

Las Vegas has one, Los Angeles has one, Singapore has one, and now London has its own outpost of celebrity favourite LAVO, too. The Italian restaurant at The BoTree is known for its super-sized portions and coastal flair across dishes such as salt-baked Mediterranean seabass and Wagyu meatballs topped with whipped ricotta. Savour fresh seafood and wood-fired meats, relish in homemade pasta and be dazzled by showstopping desserts, including the 20-layer peanut butter cake. The Hollywood export has already proven popular in the capital, attracting an A-list crowd from Jared Leto and Naomi Campbell to Michaela Coel and Winnie Harlow.

LAVO London

Location, location, location

What The BoTree lacks in a swimming pool it makes up for in its functional fitness centre and prime location on Marylebone Lane. Tucked away from the crowd, this hip hotel is at a convenient crossroads for shopping excursions on Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, and a stone’s throw from London’s Theatreland.

The BoTree

The verdict

The BoTree redefines conscious luxury, infusing each stay with purpose and compassion. Rooms and suites blend luxury with sustainability, while innovative touches and mindful details create an inviting haven that aligns with the hotel’s values of truth, love and compassion.

Conveniently located near Bond Street tube station, The BoTree is a gateway to London’s iconic sights and events. From the enchanting charm of Marylebone to the opulent allure of Mayfair, the hotel’s surroundings invite you to explore.
