MICHELIN master Dani Garcia brings world-class steakhouse Leña to Dubai

The stunning space will also include the omakase restaurant Smoked Room.

Things are heating up in Dubai’s dining scene. Spanish chef Dani Garcia has announced that he is opening a steakhouse in Dubai, which showcases the power of cooking over charcoal. Located on Palm Jumeirah in St. Regis Gardens, it is scheduled to open on Monday, 18 December.

Leña was originally born in Marbella. In 2019, Dani received three MICHELIN Stars, and he was inspired to share his skills around the world. Plus, in an unexpected move, he declared that he would make Spanish cuisine a casual affair. Today, the brand can be found in Marbella, Madrid, Miami and now Dubai.

Leña Dubai

Leña Dubai looks set to be a sultry, sophisticated space with indoor and outdoor seating. Guests can expect white tablecloths, which are offset by shades of brown, brass and gold. The outdoor tables are surrounded by pretty plants.

Leña means wood in Spanish, and is a fitting name for the restaurant. Leña Dubai’s General Manager will be Carlyne Leffondre, and the Head Chef will be Mario Martinez. The menu spans starters, robataka yaki, jewels from the sea, fire-grilled steaks, premium steaks, sharing dishes and sides.

The starters are divided up into green and general starters, which range from Charcoal Grilled Leek and Three Cauliflowers to Andalusian Bluefin Tuna Tartar and The Foi That Wanted To Be An Apple. The latter plays culinary tricks on you, as it is shaped like a green apple, but when you cut into it, it’s foie gras micuit.

The steaks include Angus Beef Tenderloin, Kiwami Beef Tenderloin and Picana Steak. The sharing dishes include Duck Feast, Roasted Free Range Chicken and Wiener Schnitzel. Plus, it includes an extensive drinks menu and the signature cocktails range from a DG Martini to a Viejo Negroni.

Dani is flexing his culinary muscles at the location. Not only will it include Leña Dubai, but also include the omakase restaurant, Smoked Room. In Madrid, the restaurant holds two MICHELIN Stars, and it aims to bring a smoky touch to haute cuisine.

It looks set to be a hot dinner.
