From Rome with love: Il Vero Alfredo opens its doors in Jeddah

This Italian eatery brings the restaurant’s signature Fettuccine Alfredo to Saudi Arabia.

Jeddah has been upping the ante in establishing itself as an all-encompassing entertainment destination. This means the city has no shortage of dining concepts either, and now, it’s welcoming yet another culinary gem to its roster: Il Vero Alfredo.

Il Vero Alfredo makes its way to Jeddah from Rome. Located in Al Shati, this legendary Roman restaurant promises an authentic Italian dining experience.

The decor here is a blend of classic and comfortable. Checkered tiled floors grace the space with wooden walls adorned with pictures of celebrities who have dined at the Rome location. The seating arrangements feature white tablecloths and simple wooden chairs with cushioned seats. Sofas add a touch of cosiness and all furnishings are arranged to face a wall that features white artwork.

Il Vero Alfredo is, of course, renowned for its Fettuccine Alfredo, a must-try dish that has delighted diners for decades. But the menu doesn’t stop there, it offers a variety of other Italian classics such as Gran fritto Alfredo, Spigola, Fusilloni Carbonara and many more, that are sure to tempt your taste buds.

Il Vero Alfredo started as a small family restaurant in Rome, back in 1908. Concerned for his wife Ines’s health after the birth of their first child, Alfredo Di Lelio created the now-famous Fettuccine Alfredo, so that she could regain her strength. They then introduced the dish to their restaurant’s menu, and it soon became a global sensation. Today, the restaurant is still run by Alfredo’s descendants, making it a true family-owned restaurant.

Now, this legacy continues in Jeddah. Whether they serve pasta with the same theatrics as the Roman outpost are yet to be seen. But Saudi Arabia sure loves some entertainment while dining. With its rich history, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s bound to become a Jeddah favourite.

Il Vero Alfredo Jeddah joins a range of restaurants opening in Jeddah. The Italian restaurant NOTO is making its way from Paris to Jeddah Walk. Villa Fayrouz hails from Kuwait, and can already be found in AlUla and Riyadh. Plus, Ricci San is bringing Japanese cuisine to King Abdul Aziz Road.
