Everything you need to know about Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea resorts

Here are all of the hotels currently confirmed for the Saudi Arabian megaproject.

The Red Sea Project is one of the most exciting megaprojects in Saudi Arabia. With Indian Ocean-worthy resorts, an ambitious regenerative tourism project and lush landscapes, it promises to be one of the most glorious getaways in the region. Plus, guests don’t have long to wait to check into these luxurious Red Sea resorts, as there are venues scheduled to open in 2023. 

The Red Sea Project is expected to cover 28,000 kilometres of islands, beaches, deserts, mountains and even volcanos and be a leading destination for eco-luxury. The plan is to have no waste-to-landfill or single-use plastic, and be 100 per cent carbon neutral. Plus, The Red Sea International Airport is in the works, you can soon land in the megaproject. Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

There are only five Ritz-Carlton Reserves around the world, and this is the first one in the kingdom. Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is a luxury property with 63 one to four-bedroom overwater and beach villas. Plus, facilities include a spa, pools and restaurants. Nujuma is situated on a pristine set of private islands, part of the Red Sea’s Blue Hole cluster of islands. Surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty and designed to blend seamlessly with the environment.

Six Senses Southern Dunes 

Six Senses Southern Dunes is focused on wellness and eco-tourism. The resort offers 76 rooms, which offer desert mountain and wadi views. At the heart of the resort is the Oasis, which is inspired by a desert flower. Inside, guests will find Earth Lab, an ecology area showcasing the hotel’s sustainable plans. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, holistic anti-ageing centre, and wet facilities ranging from cold pools to a sensory wet suite. The St. Regis Red Sea Resort

The St. Regis Red Sea Resort was the first island resort to open in the development and is a high-end property with 90 villas, two swimming pools, a fitness centre, a spa and a kid’s club. With five diverse restaurants to choose from, guests can dive into Middle Eastern cuisine at Nesma or indulge in Japanese flavours at Gishiki 45. Located on the Ummahat Islands archipelago, the resort is accessible via seaplane or speedboat.

Clinique La Prairie

The first resort to be announced for Amaala on The Red Sea is Clinique La Prairie. The resort, which was unveiled via Instagram, is anchored around the pursuit of longevity. A central plaza symbolises this focus, with each of the resort’s distinctive pillars represented in four distinct areas: medical care, nutrition, movement and wellbeing. These areas offer a range of activities and facilities, including juice bars, a cooking school, private training rooms, and cryo chambers. Beyond these core areas, the resort will offer a range of amenities designed to foster relaxation and self-discovery. Visitors can explore the on-site museum, unwind at the beach club, participate in workshops, or enjoy private dining spaces.

Desert Rock Resort

Desert Rock Resort boasts a spectacular setting, as it is situated within the desert cliffs. The hotel includes 48 villas and 12 rooms, plus a fitness centre, lagoon oasis and restaurants. The recently released renders reveal rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, private pools and modern furnishings. Plus, the project aims to protect and preserve the environment. Fully integrated into the rock, Desert Rock Resort is one of two inland resorts scheduled to open later this year. 

Equinox Resort Amaala

Amaala has joined forces with Equinox to create a slice of paradise in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea. The Equinox Resort Amaala will be an integral part of the Amaala Marina Village, a creation of architectural brilliance by Foster + Partners. The resort will boast a stunning collection of 128 keys, including two luxurious penthouses, and a dazzling array of amenities. Pamper yourself silly at the top-notch spa or take a refreshing dip in the magnesium salt rooftop pool. If you want to sweat in style, the signature Equinox Fitness Club is the place to be. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, here comes the Beach Club – a sun-kissed haven of beachside fun and relaxation.

Faena Red Sea Resort 

If it’s good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for us. The luxury hospitality brand Faena is an A-list favourite and has announced that Faena Red Sea Resort will be located on Shura Island in the Red Sea. Scheduled to open in late 2024, the resort creates one-of-a-kind hospitality experiences, which combine the best of wellness, entertainment, art and dining. The venue includes 150 suites and villas, each with its own private pool and ocean views. Plus, six restaurants, a holistic healing house, a South American-inspired spa, an 18-hole golf course, a marina and yacht club, the nightlife venue The Living Room, art exhibitions and upmarket retail.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay

Nestled along the pristine shores of the Red Sea, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay guests will be met with a grand entry unveiling manicured grounds and panoramic views capturing the essence of the Hijaz Island and the Red Sea sunsets. With 220 keys comprising rooms, suites, and villas with private pools, alongside 26 branded residential villas, this property promises unparalleled luxury and service. The resort’s luxury spa, nestled within the Organic Spa Garden, features a sculptured waterfall and offers an array of therapeutic remedies. Beyond wellness, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay boasts six restaurant and bar outlets, meeting spaces, a Kids For All Seasons program, and a Discovery Centre for guests to immerse themselves in the local surroundings. 

Four Seasons Sindalah

The Four Seasons Sindalah will offer a range of luxurious accommodations, including 225 guest rooms and suites with terraces that offer breathtaking views of the Red Sea. Additionally, there are 52 villas available, ranging from one to four bedrooms, each featuring plunge pools and picturesque beach views. For an exclusive experience, guests can indulge in the presidential or royal villas, which provide private swimming pools, fully equipped gyms, and access to private yacht docks. The renowned Italian firm, Luca Dini Design and Architecture, known for their exceptional work in superyachts, has meticulously designed the Four Seasons Neom Resort. The resort’s aesthetic combines elegance and sophistication, providing guests with a truly remarkable experience.

Four Seasons The Red Sea

Four Seasons The Red Sea will be designed by British architects, Foster + Partners. The hotel includes 149 rooms and suites, all with uninterrupted views over the white beaches and crystal blue waters. The site includes six restaurants and lounges, meeting and event spaces, and a marine discovery centre. The family-friendly features include a dedicated Kids For All Seasons space and two separate beaches for families and adults. Thrill seekers will be delighted to hear that there are plenty of sports and water activities, which include diving into the coral reefs. Plus, there will be a spa with a hammam, tennis courts, and three outdoor pools with cabanas.

Fairmont The Red Sea

Prepare for a golf lover’s paradise with the opening of Fairmont The Red Sea. This stunning property will feature an 18-hole championship golf course, making it a haven for golf enthusiasts. With 200 luxurious rooms, Fairmont The Red Sea will provide guests with unparalleled comfort and sophistication. Indulge in the exquisite culinary offerings across seven restaurants, some of which are situated overwater. The spa will offer a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation, while guests can also visit the Greenhouse, an innovative concept that combines sustainability and horticulture.

Grand Hyatt The Red Sea

Grand Hyatt The Red Sea is set to be one of the most stunning properties, as its vibrantly coloured exteriors can be spotted from afar. With 430 rooms, the hotel includes restaurants, bars, a marina and a golf course. From hydrogen and electricity-powered cars, helicopters, e-bikes, golf buggies, vans, and seaplanes to eco-friendly buses, the property aims to minimise its environmental impact and promote sustainable practices.

Hotel Indigo Oxagon

Set in the heart of Oxagon’s first residential community, the 250-key Hotel Indigo property will be the talk of the town. As doors for this property open in 2026, be prepared for a hospitality extravaganza like no other which also contributes to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. From hip cafes to a chill pool lounge and a speciality restaurant that’s a feast for the senses, Hotel Indigo Oxagon has got you covered. InterContinental Resort Red Sea

InterContinental Resort Red Sea is set to open in 2024. The hotel includes 210 rooms with sea views and beach access. Guests will be able to wake up and feel the sand between their toes. The venue includes seven restaurants, multiple swimming pools, a spa and a health club. Plus, with large event spaces, it’s ideal for business events.

Jayasom Wellness Resort

Jayasom Wellness Resort will be a family-friendly destination at Amaala. The state-of-the-art facilities will cover beauty, holistic health, fitness, nutrition physiotherapy and span a massive 7,000 square meters. The health and wellness treatments will draw inspiration from Western evidence-based practice, holistic remedies and local practices. Plus, the spa includes an adults-only and family-friendly space. Jayasom Wellness Resort will also boast health-focused experiences, from wellness trails to a yoga pavilion. Plus, guests can enjoy healthy-inspired cuisine at multiple restaurants.

Jumeirah The Red Sea

Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel Sindalah

Neom is set to welcome a new addition to its luxurious offerings: the Kingdom’s first Autograph Collection Hotels property. The hotel is slated to open on Sindalah Island, boasting 66 exquisitely designed rooms and suites, including one- and two-bedroom villas. The resort will offer an array of upscale amenities, including multiple dining options, a dedicated kids club, and a rejuvenating spa.

Miraval The Red Sea

Wellness fans will love Miraval The Red Sea – the hotel includes The Life in Balance Spa, which, at 3,700 square metres, is the largest spa in the area. While the hotel itself includes 180 rooms, the spa has 39 – more than usual for a hotel spa. Plus, there are 400 square metres of meeting space for wellness activities.

Raffles The Red Sea 

Set to open in 2024, Raffles The Red Sea is set to be an architectural wonder. The venue has been designed by the British architectural firm Foster + Partners, who are the same team behind the likes of London’s 30 St Mary Axe and Dubai’s Index Tower. The hotel includes luxurious rooms, suites, six restaurants, a spa and 565 square metres of meeting space.

Rosewood Amaala

Surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest reef and the majestic Hijazi mountains, Rosewood Amaala is designed to coexist harmoniously with the native flora and fauna, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and conservation. With 110 rooms and suites, along with 25 luxurious residences, Rosewood Amaala promises an indulgent retreat for discerning travellers. The hotel’s culinary offerings are equally impressive, with a range of restaurants offering fine dining, casual eateries, and beach-inspired lounges, all showcasing the stunning views of the Red Sea. Rosewood Amaala boasts a wealth of facilities to enhance the guest experience, including two inviting rock pools for relaxation, a dedicated kids’ club for young adventurers, and the renowned Asaya Spa for holistic wellness treatments.

Rosewood Red Sea

Rosewood Red Sea is scheduled to open in 2024 and bring the brand’s upmarket touch to the Kingdom. The venue spans 149 rooms and suites, three restaurants, two lounges, and a Manor Club. Plus, the wellbeing centre, Asaya, is expected to be a multipurpose space – we’re talking a spa, movement studios and yoga pavilion. 

SLS Red Sea

SLS Red Sea is also expected to open in late 2024 and promises to be a great getaway. Spanning a whopping 800,000 square feet, the space includes 150 rooms, which include s12 suites and 15 villas. Fab for families, these span one to four bedrooms. Our mouths are already watering, as the restaurants confirmed include Seabird, Fi’lia and Floating World. Plus, there’ll be Ciel Spa, a fitness centre and pool.

Shebara Resort

Shebara Resort is located on Shura Island, and for those who want a real getaway, the resort is a 45-minute boat ride from the mainland. Shebara is scheduled to open in the summer of 2024 and is the first resort owned and operated by Red Sea Global at The Red Sea. The resort will boast 73 pod-like rooms, which range from overwater and beach villas. Plus, it will feature a 30 to 40-meter reef close to the beach where guests can explore the abundant marine life. Plus, experiences include a restaurant and spa.

Six Senses Amaala

Prepare for the Red Sea to level up its luxury game. The highly anticipated Six Senses Amaala is making its grand entrance in the picturesque Triple Bay area of Amaala. Drawing inspiration from the traditional coastal villages of the region, the resort features 64 rooms, six suites, 30 villas, and 25 branded residences. To the north, the village opens up to the expansive and picturesque beaches of Hijaz Cove, where guests can dine at the beach restaurant or enjoy leisurely moments by the family pool. On the southern side, the village leads visitors around the point, revealing natural rock pools, secluded beaches, and a serene mangrove boardwalk, guiding them to the spa nestled within a private cove.

The Luxury Collection Sindalah

Exciting news awaits at Neom with the upcoming opening of Marriott’s Luxury Collection hotels. Located on the picturesque Sindalah island in the Red Sea, The Luxury Collection hotels will offer an authentic and unparalleled experience. The first property will be a stunning beach resort boasting 70 luxurious rooms and suites, including spacious one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas complete with private pools. The second property will be an all-suite sanctuary featuring 115 elegant one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites. Both hotels will also feature exceptional restaurants serving diverse cuisines, as well as state-of-the-art leisure facilities for guests to indulge in.

The Red Sea EDITION

There’s one in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, London, New York and soon enough The Red Sea. We’re talking about the uber-trendy EDITION Hotels. The hotel group has announced that The Red Sea EDITION will open in late 2025. If other EDITION Hotels are anything to go by, we expect the property to be a hip hangout. The on-trend hotels often adopt a less is more approach, and have a minimalist yet sophisticated feel. The Red Sea EDITION will include 240 rooms, ranging from one to three bedrooms. Plus, there are two restaurants, a bar, a beach club, a pool and a spa.

Yotel Oxagon

The first hotel at Neom’s Oxagon has been announced, and it’s set to be the British brand, Yotel. The 300 key hotel is scheduled to open in 2025, and it’s reported to cost $44 million. So far, we know that Yotel Oxagon will create a technology-inspired hospitality experience. We’re talking tech-tastic features, from a robotic concierge to smart beds.
