Italian restaurant Public is coming to Sulimaniyah in Riyadh

Dig into pizzas and pastas at the colourful concept.

Saudi Arabia is home to a range of dining destinations, from celebrity chefs to homegrown concepts. Now, it is set to welcome a new Italian restaurant, Public. The restaurant can already be found in Boulevard City and it is now expanding to Sulimaniyah in the capital.

While Public is known for its terrific takeaway pizzas, it is well worth checking out the restaurants. The vibrant venues can be found in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The interiors are black and orange, and the plates are adorned with the Public logo as well as funky patterns.

If the Boulevard City menu is anything to go by, diners are in for a treat. The menu at Public in Riyadh spans starters, salads, pizzas, pastas, risottos and desserts. The pizzas include BBQ Ring with BBQ ranch, wagyu beef and short ribs; Buffalo with buffalo sauce, chicken and Padano cheese; Sweet Peppe with pepperoni, honey and basil; and Truffle Shuffle with truffle cream and mozzarella.

The pastas and risottos include Crazy Truffle, Crispy Lasagna, Grandma’s Spaghetti, Lobster Spaghetti, Saffron Shrimp Risotti, Spicy Rigatoni, Truffle Tagliolini and Veal Lemon. The desserts include the Dulce De Leche and Profiteroles. Plus, mocktails include a Bellini, Hazelnut Pomegranate and Strawberry Sparkling.

Public can also be found at Dubai Mall in Dubai. In 2023, the brand ran a pop-up in Museum of the Future in Dubai, which proved popular, thanks to its breakfast dishes and tasty tiramisu.\

While Public has plenty to offer, its tiramisu is definitely the most beloved. Served table-side from a family-size bowl, this dessert is presented along with theatrics by the staff. It offers a blend of mascarpone cheese that’s smooth and creamy, without being sticky, combined with biscuits that are perfectly soft and moist. Topped off with a drizzle — or more if you like — of espresso, this Tiramisu is as good as it gets. And while it’s enough to feed two, you might just want it all for yourself.

The opening date for Public in Riyadh has not yet been confirmed.
