This year marks the ninth annual Emirati Women’s Day celebration. Launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed and Mother of the Nation in 2015, the date was chosen due to the founding of the UAE’s General Women’s Union, which launched on 28 August.
