SiO2 The Beach Lounge is Muscat’s latest sandy escape

This beach lounge beckons diners to indulge in a toes-in-the-sand escape.

Oman has long been a beloved destination for UAE residents seeking a break. And now, there’s another reason to pack your bags and cross the border. Set against the backdrop of Muscat’s coastline, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah has unveiled its latest culinary gem, SiO2 The Beach Lounge.

Slated to open its doors soon, SiO2 is tucked along the hotel’s beach and looks set to redefine the coastal dining experience in Muscat. Named after the elemental components of sandy shores – quartz, silicon, and oxygen – this beach lounge beckons travellers and locals to indulge in a toes-in-the-sand escape.

SiO2 draws inspiration from contemporary island beach lounges while seamlessly blending with the views of the Gulf of Oman. With its roof bar crafted from palm fronds and a chic fusion of beach and contemporary furniture, the lounge exudes an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication. Imagine sinking into these cosy lounge chairs draped with white curtains, sipping on artisanal cocktails as the sun dips below the Hajar mountains — perfect for the gram.

As day transitions into night, the ambience at SiO2 transforms with the arrival of a resident DJ spinning the best chill-out and acoustic beats. As for the menu, diners can indulge in the Above the Clouds cocktail infused with frankincense to the fiery Scarlet Glow. Pair your drink with a selection of light bites, including hot and cold mezze, arancini, or succulent prawn tempura. And for those who love shisha, SiO2 offers fragrant puffs beside the sea.

Whether you’re seeking nature, entertainment, or gastronomy, you’ll find it all at SiO2.
