Parasite and Squid Game composer Jung Jaeil to perform in Abu Dhabi

The musical maestro will be wowing the capital’s crowd for one night only.

As the cooler season approaches, Abu Dhabi is heating up with an array of must-see events. While sporting action remains at the forefront, music lovers are in for a wild ride as well. And if you’re a fan of soundtracks from your favourite films and television series, you’ll be delighted to know that Jung Jaeil, the musical genius behind Parasite and Squid Game, is heading to Abu Dhabi for a special concert.

Taking place on Thursday, 16 December at Etihad Arena, Jung Jaeil will take the audience through his captivating body of work, performed by the globally renowned 21st Century Orchestra. Whether you’re a fan of the eerie, pulse-pounding score of Squid Game or Parasite’s emotional, dramatic music, this concert promises to be a musical journey you won’t forget.

Jung Jaeil will be performing as part of the Movies in Concert series that’s set to take place from 16 to 18 December. For those unversed with him, he’s the award-winning, South Korean composer who created the soundtrack for Parasite, the first non-English language film to win the Oscar for Best Picture, and Netflix’s hit series Squid Game. Other accolades under this belt include the 2020 Grand Bell Awards, the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards, and the 2021 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. His show in Abu Dhabi as part of the Movies in Concert series comes just in time as the second season of Squid Game is all set to hit screens on 26 December.

Apart from Jung Jaeil’s performance, the Movies in Concert also brings live scores from some of the most iconic films, such as Frozen, Jurassic Park, The Lion King, and Top Gun. These will also be conducted by 21st Century Orchestra.

Tickets for Movies in Concert are live now and start at AED 75.
